The whole nation of Japan is famous for its “sakura,” or cherry blossoms, and some determined “Sakura Hunters” will tour the country chasing the differing blooming periods in different regions.
Shimoina has its own beautiful cherry blossoms, including famous trees at the Takamori elementary school, blooms at numerous temples in Iida City, the “Black Ship” tree in Achi Seinaiji and a boulevard of trees by the Tenrykyo Gorge.
The peach blossom blooms are famous at Heavens Sonohara, as are the sunflowers in Hiraya.
Other natural features of note including the Yokone Rice Fields in Iida, the Tea Plantation in Tenryukyo, and the Sarukura no Izumi Spring.
